The employer claimed that our client had sent the “speculative” CV and claimed that they already knew of the candidate and were not entitled to an introduction fee. Our client was frustrated by the lack of progress and had almost given up hope of collecting the debt.
Following our initial engagement, the employer maintained their position and refused to pay. We were able to consider the circumstances of the candidate’s employment, together with the client’s terms and conditions and the legal issues involved and advised the client to issue court proceedings.
We were able to secure judgment against the debtor and following further correspondence with the debtor secured payment of the original debt, together with payment of our client`s claim for interest and costs.
This particular case highlighted the need to obtain experienced advice and the benefit of using an external debt collector who also has legal knowledge.
